INFORMATION FOR HOST COMPANIES
What is our mission?:
Within our Vancouver Internships Program, we arrange unpaid internships for international students and professionals from several countries coming to Vancouver to participate in an academic program in order to improve their language abilities in a Canadian work environment.
How does it work?
The internship is an essential and integral component of the candidates’ academic program. Prior to the internship, candidates will spend a minimum of four weeks at our educational partner-institutes in order to attend an intensive corporate and language training course. This will reduce training time and eliminate unnecessary cultural errors.
During the internship, candidates will be attending an exclusive workshop and seminar series. As well, candidates will be required to submit weekly reports about the internship to their internship coordinator to ensure that the highest standards are being met, both by the candidate and the host company. Host Companies will be asked to complete performance evaluations for their internship candidate and to write a reference letter on company letterhead at the end of their candidate’s internship.
All our candidates have valid immigration papers, health insurance and are covered by WCB insurance through their educational institution during their program duration. There is no financial cost to your organization.
Our candidates are available to begin their internship at any time of the year for a minimum duration of four (4) weeks, and a maximum duration of twenty (20) weeks.
Who are our candidates and what skills do they have?
Our participants are candidates from all over the world. Most of them are university-level students or graduates who are required by their university to complete an internship as part of their studies. They are eager to combine their academic studies with practical experience because they know that it will not only allow them to improve their language abilities and to learn more about the host country and culture but also help prospects for their future professional career.
Our candidates are educated in various fields relevant to every company's business needs, in a wide range of industries - from marketing to architecture. Many of our candidates have already gained considerable working experience while studying and working in their country and abroad. Most of them have studied English for many years, so their language and communication skills are adequate for interning in your company.
